OCD is more than being “particular” or liking things neat. It’s a cycle of intrusive thoughts, images, or urges and the rituals you feel you have to do to feel safe, “just right,” or gain certainty.

What Is Exposure and Response Prevention

Exposure and Response Prevention is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that helps you face feared thoughts, images, and situations while choosing not to engage in compulsions. With repetition, your brain learns that you do not need rituals to feel safe.
